MAXIMIZE YOUR FUNDRAISING DOLLARS
By combining your Clothing Drive the same day as School Sporting Events, School/Town Fairs, Car Wash Events, School Shows, PTA Meetings and Open Houses, Walking or Running Events. Hold a drive at a grocery store or large retail store parking lot where there is high traffic for maximum collections. Bring your friends together and for a Charity Clothing Drive at your home.
CREATE FLYERS AND POSTERS
Either creating your own flyer or using our complimentary flyer, hand out or hang up flyers at schools, local stores, and around your community. Use colorful pictures, dates, times, drop off locations, your organizations name and a catchy phrase. For example: “Instead of reaching in your pocket, reach into your closet!”, or “The more it weighs, the more we raise!
JUMP START YOUR EVENT
Start by asking Parents, Students or Club Members to collect clothing, shoes, apparel, & linens from their neighbors, friends & co-workers at their homes and to bring their bags to the day of your drive. Every bag raises funds!
STAY LOCAL
Use local schools, churches, businesses, lawn signs, newspapers & radio stations to promote your drive. Give your event great media attention, often free of charge. Enlist other local businesses, clubs, fire departments, schools & churches to help by holding a drive for your organization as well.
USE SOCIAL MEDIA
Use Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to promote your drive. Create email blasts to school parents & students, club & church members, and sports team families. Write periodic updates letting your friends and family know more about your drive, its goal, and how to participate. Create a Facebook event page and invite people to join.
MAKE IT A DOUBLE PLAY!
Many companies and foundations sponsor Matching Gift policies for their employees philanthropic interests. These companies may be willing to double or even triple the value of your clothing drive efforts. All it takes is a call to the company you work for or calling local nonprofits, local Rotary Clubs, or large wholesale clubs to see if they provide a “Matching Gifts Program” to the money you have raised through your clothing drive.
REWARD STUDENTS
With tickets for prizes or have a cereal/pizza party for the class who brings in the most bags. Provides great results for optimal PTA/PTO fundraising.
